Visit the Best Little Zoo in America! The Staten Island Zoo offers a delightful peek into the world of wildlife. Home to endangered Amur Leopards and frolicking fossas, the Zoo provides a safe habitat for some of your favorite animals.  Nearby parks are a treat for visitors of all ages.

(includes Staten Island Zoo, lunch at the Zoo’s café, and a brief walk to Clove Lakes Park – not traveling far from Martling Avenue)

Get on the 9:30a.m. Staten Island Ferry coming from Manhattan and arrive at the St. George Ferry Terminal. Take the S48 Bus at Ramp C to go to the Staten Island Zoo- The Best Little Zoo in America! Get off the Forest Avenue/Broadway stop and walk to the left about 6 minutes until you reach the entrance of the Zoo. Spend a few hours in the Zoo in their various exhibits including the reptile room, the African safari, and the outside children’s petting zoo. A café is on the grounds for a snack or lunch. After your visit at the Zoo, leave through the Clove Road exit of the Zoo and walk straight on Martling Avenue for about 5 minutes. Stay on the parking lot side of the street. On your left you will find a trail to the park. Follow that trail until you see sight of the baseball fields and playground. You are now in the heart of Clove Lakes Park which has trails, a playground, and more. Follow the pathway along the middle of the lake and you will see the ice skating rink (open Friday – Sunday). This outdoor ice skating rink is inexpensive and a fun time for the whole family. After an hour or two of skating, walk to your left along Victory Boulevard, cross the street and there you will find Napoli Pizza. After dinner, catch the S61 or S62 back to St. George. The bus stop is on the same side as the pizzeria.

Directions from Staten Island Zoo to The Carousel For All Children: Take the S53 at Broadway/Colonial CT and after 6 stops, get off at Clove Rd/Niagara St. Walk to Victory Bl/Clove Rd and catch the S62 bus. After 21 stops, get off at Victory Bl/Morani St and walk through the park to arrive at the Carousel.
